Orange UK Email Settings for Windows Mobile

configure a data connection for a private APN or for the Orange MSMail APN on a Windows Mobile Standard device

1 On the Homescreen, click Start > Settings > Connections.
2 Click GPRS.
3 Click Menu > Add.
4 Enter the following information. Get the Usernames and password settings from your IT department.
in Description, enter a name for the connection:
i.e “Orange MSMail”
in Connects to, select “Work” for the type of network to which the user will connect
in Access point, enter the new access point name,
i.e “msmail” or your private corporate APN
in User name, enter the user name for the private APN
(not required if using the MSMail APN)
in Password, enter the password, if required
(not required if using the MSMail APN)
in Primary DNS, enter the primary Domain Name System
(DNS) address, if required
in Secondary DNS, enter the secondary DNS address,
if required.
5 Click Done.

Create a work URL exception for your exchange server
(this tells the device to use a particular APN when accessing your Exchange server).

1 On the Homescreen, click Start > Settings > Connections.
2 Click Menu > Advanced.
3 In the Advanced screen, click Menu > Work URL Exceptions.
4 Click Menu > Add.
5 Enter the following information:
in URL Pattern, enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of your Exchange server. (For example: “mail.company.com”). This will possibly be the same as the URL used for Outlook Web Access, but contact your IT Administrator if you are unsure.

optional – create a proxy connection
(only use with a private APN when wanting to access the internet via the corporate Proxy server).
1 On the Homescreen, click Start > Settings > Connections.
2 Click Proxy.
3 Click Menu > Add.
4 Enter the following information:
in Description, enter a name for the connection
in Connects from, select “The Internet” as the type of network
from which the user will connect
in Connects to, select “Work” as the type of network to which
the user will connect
in Proxy [name:port] enter the proxy server name and port
number in this form: server name: port number
in Type, select the type of proxy connection to create
in User name, enter the user name for your network
in Password, enter the password.
5 Click Done.
